Let’s be honest — game shows rule. The name Bob Barker alone brings me back to middle school, spending sick days at home watching contestants “spin that wheel” and overbid on showcases. Fortunately, you can now fully experience all the joy of a game show without coughs or sneezes. Every other Wednesday night, starting at 7:30 p.m., Milwaukee comedians Patrick Schmitz and David Bogan host “Schmitz & Bogan,” a free game and trivia night at the Alchemist Theatre, 2569 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.

Over spring break, I decided to face two of my fears: flying and growing up. I roundhouse kicked my way out of my comfort bubble and boarded a plane to New York City. Despite things not going as planned, I still learned how hard it is for comics to get their start in New York.

These characters are the Spanish Odonnells, a three-man musical parody group created at Marquette in 2008.
