Pauly was referring to a Dec. 31, 2008 university report that states that new gifts to the endowment last year totaled about $64 million. Contributions to Marquette Today, the annual fund, totaled about $5.9 million. The university's endowment was $357,300,000 in 2008, according to a survey released Tuesday by the National Association of Colleges and University Business Officers. That represents a 0.8 percent drop from 2007. The Tribune regrets the error.”
